Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American-British musician and sitarist. She was among the youngest and the first woman to be awarded an award from the British House of Commons Shield she has had 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to perform live in concert and act as a host at the award ceremony. Anoushka shankar is one of India's rising stars in the sitar. She is the student of Ravi Shankar, and the daughter of Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing around from London in the UK to New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. She then moved to Encinitas CA, where she obtained the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha is still pursuing a successful performing and recording careers, even though she's only a teenager. She has been accompanying her father in the stage for a long time. In 1998, she released her debut solo album Anourag. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at many of the biggest venues, she also has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka Shakar's career isn't just limited to music. Bapi the Love of My Live, a biographical picture dedicated to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. Also, she appeared in movie in 2003. Her role was an Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka's career is still developing and she is expected to accomplish many amazing things in the future. Anoushka lived a long time between London and Delhi throughout her childhood. Then, she relocated to California to finish high school. When she was nine years old, she began studying music under her father making her performing debut with the sitar 4 years later during his 75th birthday celebration in Delhi. Her father traveled around the globe with her, and she also gained a variety of experience. When she was still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. She was the first woman to receive the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament as recognition of her musical talent and artistic ability in music and the Asian Arts.
