Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a character on the well-known television series Law and Order Special Victims Unit. From the time he was in university, Christopher Meloni has been attracted to the world of acting. He pursued a degree in acting at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active in both films and television, but it was his character in the smaller screen which brought him fame and a large fans. He can play both characters from the side of the police as well as the different. This is what has made him so popular. In his first TV series, he played the part of a murderer. He then went on to portray the role as an NYPD Detective. His small-screen performances are rewarded with numerous Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards.
